| The authors give some data on the Ichthyological observations during 1998. They give data on the meagre Argyrosomus regius with the first catches of mature specimens from the South Bay of Biscay during January, March, April and the detrimental important catches of juveniles. They list the records in the North of Spain of shortnose greeneye Chlorophthalmus agassizii recorded from the first time from the Bay of Biscay, of Pompano Trachinatus ovatus and of Almaco jack Seriola rivoliana recorded from the first time from the French Channel and from the North Sea. | This work is based on about 2,000 samples. It provides a synthetic description of the distribution patterns of fûraminiferal assemblages in paralie environments and shows on two examples the effect of anthropogenic impacts. It shows that despite the great diversity of eeological parameters, foraminiferal assemblages are naturally distributeà along a fev/ major gradients. Anomalies in these distribution patterns or morphological abnormalities of the tests indicate anthropogenic or natural stresses. | Along biometric characteristics, glass eel otoliths were collected during three migration seasons, in the Adour estuary, during the new moon of January. Microstructure reading and measurements of various growth zones bring information on glass eel larval life during their oceanic migration and the transition phase in estuary. The results show significant inter-annual variations of glass eels otolithometric characteristics from the point of view of their typology as of the various growth zones measured during transoceanic migration. | In 2008, were recorded for the first time Derichthys serpentinus in the Bay of Biscay, Kyphosus sectator in the Pays basque, Liparis montagui in the Charente-Maritime, Boops boops in Normandy. | Under the WFD monitoring the “subtidal macroalgae” parameter is calculated for the second time on the Basque coast water body from the protocol used in Britain and adapted to local environmental context. In 2011, three stations were sampled instead of 5 in 2008. The result is the same to the one obtained in 2008 with a quality index "medium" for the whole of the water body. The main criterion penalizing the calculation of the index is "opportunistic species" for each station. There is variability between sites according to the criteria between the two campaigns reflecting the interest of monitoring every three years on the three sites. |
